JUNE 2000
Firstly, let me apologise for not getting a newsletter out in May. As most of you are aware, our new theatre opened on May 24th and we were very busy, to say the least! Things have settled down a little now, allowing me to focus on 'more important things' like quilting!

After a couple of swaps and changes, the June meeting which was to be held at Ellen Grice's will now be held at Mary Anne Mayer's home. The meeting will be held on Thursday June 29th, at 7:00pm.The program was going to be on quilt bindings, but we have now made a change. Every one will receive a Survey form, either by email or snail mail. The survey outlines several points regarding the Quilt Show that we need to discuss. During the June meeting at Mary Anne's we will discuss the Quilt Show Survey in depth, and vote on the issues raised. This way we can finalise what is happening with the Quilt Show in the future. As always, we'd love to see everyone attend the meeting, but if you are unable to attend, please inform the hostess a few days before the meeting.

The Block of the month series is progressing very well, and all of us involved are having a great time. Each block we have completed has taught us something new, and I for one look forward to each month to see what new block we have to create! Mary Anne gave out her butterfly block in May, and it looks a very pretty block.

Don't forget, anyone who is now ready to give out their blocks may do so, you don't have to wait your 'turn'!

During the April meeting, it was decided that we would all contribute a little something each month to present to the Women's Centre. Several of us know first hand of women in crisis, and it was felt that each of us could help in some small way by providing these women and children with basic needs. A lot of them have fled their homes, with nothing but their children and the clothes on their backs, and items such as toiletries are something they simply do not have anymore. Each month we will contact the Centre, and see what items they require the most. For this month's meeting, we are all asked to bring along a small tube of toothpaste and a toothbrush.

For those of us who are online, here are a few websites that have left entries in our club email. In case you have forgotten how to access the club email, you go to, our Sign In name is panhandlepiecers and our password is quilting. Nice and easy to remember!

"I make time for quilting by eating out and only cleaning house every other week. When I die, the house will be dirty in a few days anyway, so I might as well spend my time quilting!"
