Yes, it's that time of year again, it's Easter already! I can't believe how fast this year is going. I hope that all of you have a wonderful Easter weekend and enjoy spending time with your family.
The next meeting will be held on Thursday April 27th, at 7:00pm. As most of you are aware, Marjie and Ed Lobit have had a bit of a rough ride this last few weeks, with Ed falling ill while down in Texas. Due to this, the April meeting which was to be held at Marjie's will now be held at Phyllis Stephen's. Jeanette Funderburg will still be the co-hostess for this meeting. Remember to bring your quilting 'gadgets' to the meeting, as that is our program for the evening. Phyllis will also set up her quilting machine, and those of us wishing to have a 'test drive' can do so! I know I'm looking forward to that! Thank you Phyllis for holding the meeting at your place at such short notice.
BLOCK OF THE MONTH .....
At the March meeting, Mary Howell and Ellen Grice gave out their blocks. Mary is doing a basket block, while Ellen chose a fan design. Jeanette Funderburg also recieved her star blocks, and they all looked beautiful! During the April meeting, Mollie Mathis and Mary Anne Mayer will give out the blocks they have chosen. This is a fun thing to do each month, and it certainly broadens your quilting horizons by learning new techniques on each different block.
On Saturday April 15th, we met at the hospital and spent a wonderful day sewing quilts and receiving blankets for the Hope Pregnancy Center in Guymon. We finished approximately 20 blankets, and decided to keep on making blankets up until our May meeting, when we will invite a member of the Center to our meeting, and present her with our blankets. So - if you still wish to contribute and make little blankets, you still have time!
Tamra Clawson and Ellen Grice were the lucky winners of the March meeting's door prize. They are to bring the door prizes for our April meeting.
